Stacy Lewis has withdrawn in the US Solheim Cup team with a back injury.
Lewis, 34, is named as a pick by captain Juli Inkster, however, her rear flared up a week and she does not feel able to tee it up at Gleneagles.
Her place in the team is going to be taken by 26-year-old newcomer Ally McDonald.
“I understand this was a remarkably challenging decision for Stacy, but she also has the group’s best interests in mind,” said Inkster.
McDonald finished one spot outside an automatic location, and was in Scotland since the team alternate.
