Richard Carapaz: Giro d’Italia champion to miss Tour of Britain over visa issue

Giro d’Italia winner Richard Carapaz is not able to compete at the Tour of Britain because his visa has not been issued in time.
Movistar rider Carapaz has raced as winning in June, his first Grand Tour victory Italy.
26, the Ecuadorian, was set to race next to fellow lecture of team-mate Mikel Landa and Britain debutant.
After signing a final deal this past week carapaz will join Team Ineos in the 2020 year.
Movistar stated in a statement:”Regrettably, and despite the Movistar Team after all processes, Richard Carapaz’s visa for the Tour of Britain has not been allowed in time for him to go to the race,” Hector Carretero will soon be substituting the Ecuadorian.”
In joining Team Ineos, Carapaz joins up with three Grand Tour champions – Chris Froome Geraint Thomas and Egan Bernal – also as Ben Swift, who signed a contract extension on Friday.
