Claudio Marchisio retires from football at age of 33

Former Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has from retired from football after a brief bout with Russian side Zenit St Petersburg at the age of 33.
After spending 25 years in the club in which he also won four Italian walkers as well as seven Serie A titles, marchisio finished his stay at Juve last year. He made 55 caps.
It is a significant decision but an extremely tough one. It had been right to show it. I decided to retire since I realised that my own body was no longer reacting as the head wanted, Marchisio told colleagues at Juves Allianz Stadium.
He combined Zenit on a yearlong bargain in September but cut his spell short earlier this year due to a knee difficulty after managing.
I invested unforgettable moments on the area… I thank Juventus and the other teams I played with, my team-mates, supervisors and trainers that gave me all this, he further added.
Here I raised my most significant trophies. These are the feelings which will always remain within me.
