Chelsea prospect Billy Gilmour signs new four-year contract

Promising Chelsea teenager Billy Gilmour has already recently signed up a new four-year contract.
After getting the first Scot to play in 17 years and making his Premier League debut in the 2-2 draw against Sheffield United, midfielder Gilmour has signed until 2023.
The Scotland U21 global featured in the initial two pre-season games of Frank Lampard in Dublin in July.
He said:”It is very exciting for me and my family to sign this deal.
“Frank has come and everybody is buzzing, coaching is actually great and there’s a high quality to what we do. There are exciting times ahead and I can work hard to secure more chances as well.
“It was amazing to make my introduction and for the gaffer to reveal his confidence in me at a tight match.
“I thank him for his faith in me, now I want to be certain it was not only a one-off and keep showing him I have a whole lot more to provide.
“I want to make sure I’m involved with the senior team as far as I could be and try to push for more looks.”
Glaswegian tyro Gilmour, who joins Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount and Marc Guehi in agreeing contract extensions was backed by Kenny Miller to be fast-tracked into the Scotland group.
When the growth side face Brighton in Stamford Bridge on Friday he could attribute alongside Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
