Tom Scudamore suffers broken wrist in Worcester fall

After suffering a broken wrist in a fall at Worcester on Tuesday leading jockey Tom Scudamore is set for a spell on the sidelines.
Scudamore was riding the David Pipe-trained Malangen in the opening novices’ handicap chase after his mount suffered a fall at the fence from the end – .
Scudamore walked off from the incident, but his injury has been later verified.
Pipe said:”Unfortunately he has broken his wrist and he’s also got some spine pain, so they’ve kept him in hospital for further checks.
“He is going to be out for some time, obviously.”
The injury of scudamore chemicals a couple of days to the Pond House team, with Timeforben and the Boy both suffering fatal injuries of Noel.
“They say these things come in threes, so fingers crossed it is behind us now,” Pipe added.
Another jockey from the wars Tuesday was Callum Bewley, who needed after falling at Kelso from Jackie Stephen’s Welcome Ben to be taken into Borders General Hospital for Additional assessment.
Welcome Ben was injured after exiting at the fence and bringing down Wonderful Ben
Bewley’s agent, Richard Hale, explained:”I talked to his father last night and it looks as though he’s tweaked a couple of ribsbut there no damage to any vertebrae or anything like that, thankfully.
“He’s clearly a bit sore, but he should not be away for too long, so I wouldn’t have thought – perhaps a week or two.”
