Texas Rangers at Milwaukee Brewers MLB Pick – August 11th

Yesterday, I didnt bet on the New York Mets , and I am not going to gambling on the Mets but I wished to take a couple of moments to recognize what this team is performing at this time. After the Mets produced the blockbuster move to acquire pitcher Marcus Stroman from the Toronto Blue Jays the initial backlash was ferocious. Fans and the pundits have been scratching their heads, and on paper, the move didnt make a lot of sense.
The Mets were out and were supposed to be purchasing some of the men including Eddie Diaz and Noah Syndergaard. They brought in Stroman from Toronto and retained their best guys all, in a desperate bid to get back in the playoff picture. Personally, I saw it as one of the more vexing moves of the previous ten years and laughed and thought to Mets move that was typical, fully assuming like so many trades have previously itd blow up in their head.
And then something shifted to the Mets. They caught fire. And all of the sudden this team needs to be feared from the National League. The Mets have reeled off fifteen wins and are back to the perfect side of .500 and are only a half a game back of their NL wild cardgame. And its not that theyre winning, it is how they are winning. It is a different hero every night for all these wonder Mets. It appears that they get to a position where they are going to lose and find a way to point a successful comeback.
As theyre laying -200 with ace Jacob deGrom on the mound the amount on New York today is too high to back them. But be certain to keep your eye. Baseball is a sport, much of it is centered around endings. Things appear to break up your own way, For those who have it. Whenever you dont you can not get a win. At the moment, the Mets have it. For todays selection, well visit Milwaukee in which the Brewers are currently looking to sweep against up the Texas Rangers.
The Texas Rangers are hoping to avoid getting trapped. The Rangers have dropped four straight matches, two of those along with their season is winding to a closefriend. They did not go out and get much talent while Texas didnt maintain the fire sale which many anticipated at the trade deadline, along with the Rangers are nine games back of the second wild card at the American League.
For the Brewers, they did a great job of incorporating capable arms since they added guys like Ray Black, Jake Faria, Drew Pomeranz, along with tonights starter Jordan Lyles. And the moves are starting to really give this squad an increase as they have won five straight matches and are only a game and a half of the Chicago Cubs for first place in the NL Central Division race.
Starting today for the Brewers is Jordan Lyles (7-7 4.97 ERA), and also for the Rangers, its Mike Minor (10-6 3.06 ERA). The game is set at nine runs. The Brewers are -126 favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 11:10 AM PST in Miller Park in Milwaukee.
Occasionally a trade just does not seem to make a whole lot of sense when it is made. That was the case with the Mets and Marcus Stroman, which was also true once the Brewers brought in beginning pitcher Jordan Lyles. Lyles struggled through an awful season. In his past four starts before getting traded, Lyles had gotten in only 1 innings for twenty-four runs. It is really significant, although I dont know off hand what ERA which adds up to. And you need to remember, this man pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates, at the same division as the Brewers.
So, it was difficult to expect the guy to be much better in Milwaukee because he had been in Pittsburgh. But he has figured out things so far! In his two starts with his new team, he has allowed just two earned runs and has pitched a combined ten innings and also the Brewers won both games. Occasionally a change of scenery out of a team out of contention to a group right in the mix of a pennant race is.
Mike Minor is suffering through the exact contrary of what Jordan Lyles is moving through in that people expected him to get traded to a competitor, and he ended up staying in Texas. Minor was a favorite trade target for several teams, but a deal could not be made, and here he is now finishing his season out with a team heading nowhere.
Plus it looked because he had been awful at July, like the strain of possibly getting traded was wearing on Minor. Heading into July, Minor was 8-4 with a 2.40 ERA and has been chosen to the Al All-Star team. But during the month leading up to the trade deadline, then he was just 1-2 with a 6.59 ERA in five starts, and the Rangers went 1-4 in those five games. Those struggles may have been kept Minor in Texas because his worth dropped at the time. The first deadline beginning of minor proved to be a great one as he pitched seven shutout innings.
This is an intriguing game. I would have enjoyed backing Minor getting dog cash. But he has struggled since then, and I am not confident he can move in and shut down a great team like the Brewers. And when you look at this Texas lineup, then they arent the same with no Joey Gallo on the field.
With Gallo sidelined with injury, this group is 28th in the majors in runs scored from the month of August. They are scoring over three runs on a game, and theyre hitting an abysmal .206 as a team. While Im not really that convinced that his effects can be continued by Lyles, I know that the Brewers will not be leaving him into the game all that long.
I believe Minor find a way to make the most of this slumping Rangers lineup gets roughed up a few, and the Brewers with a questionnaire of their bullpen and Lyles and complete the sweep. Right now, the Brewers have this, and I talked about endings, and the Rangers do not. And fire on the Brewers now and I am going to take advantage of these trends. Give me the Milwaukee Brewers now as home favorites in match three from Miller Park at -126!
