It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more firms — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be much more fun…and not as stressful.
I would bet that BetOnline wishes that they did. They’ve made decisions a couple of years back that’s probably cost them thousands, hundreds of thousands, possibly even millions of dollars, because of lost business from poor PR.
We are going to be sharing some examples of those beside you in our inspection. Because while we wholeheartedly suggest BetOnline to our customers — and feel that now they are a trusted and legit gaming company — we think you have the right to know the whole story before opting to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?
2019 MAIN REVIEW
CASINO & SKILL GAMES
First Things First: What Can BetOnline Do Exactly?
What just did BetOnline do to create so many people mad?
We believe that a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor choices crosses the spectrum of unethical behaviour, ranging from telling likes to withholding cash to having shoddy security.
There are loads of examples we can show you. However, LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They discovered several examples, which you can find for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR version:
BetOnline Told a Fib
When BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they lied about what system it was on. They claimed to be about the Hero Poker Network, even though they were actually about the Action Poker Network. There were stories about how they had been on the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked off.
Afterwards reports (from BetOnline) indicated that things were nice and fixed, and that BetOnline was (and still is) on the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to enjoy, eh? (Though we might lie also if we were on a shoddy network such as Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a dumb move and a bad way to market a new product. It doesn’t exude confidence. Plus it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first location?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money from customers. The reasoning was nearly always because the client supposedly cheated, although no proof was provided from BetOnline (from the examples we have read).
One example that caught our eye was of an expert who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline stated he cheated. They refused to send him all his palms, but did offer to send him the hand histories which showed him jobless (for proof).
He got them . What he did get was vacant promises about the way they were on the road, and also the runaround when they never showed up. They told him they could not send him the hand histories because the documents were too large.
(Anybody who knows anything about internet poker and hands histories — let alone about downloading files to your computer — knows what a crock this is. And, why would not you send evidence someone cheated in case you do not have anything to hide?)
Finally Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and assisted the participant get his cash back. His last update mentions being alleviated about the way it worked out for himbut also stated the same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Had BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the participant did do something wrong — he chip-dumped to his friend. But here is the kicker:
He chip-dumped to his friend at a HEADS UP table where nobody else would be hurt. He did it his friend might have an additional $50 to play with at BetOnline.
The funny part is that they were playing from the exact same house at the time. Most sites wouldn’t even let two people from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the same table but BetOnline did.
The person had his account suspended (way after the fact, whereas many sites would have caught it much sooner), which no disputes or thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s though, is the way they needed to also take his 37,000 he earned because that episode.
Forum members indicated that most legit websites would never have allowed two people from the same IP to sit at precisely the exact same table. And, if they did, as soon as they guessed chip dumping had occurred, the participant’s accounts would come under review. He’d never have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
But now he did, BetOnline wanted it. Buttechnically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s actions (which was no one). So it’s absurd BetOnline believes they need to be able to retain it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The previous example we want to talk about is a case in which a BetOnline rep outed the way the staff knew their client’s passwords and login amounts. It is possible to see the live chat log in here.
The original poster has a fantastic point. If everybody in the business has access to your login information, what’s stopping them from running a VPN, logging into account and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a fantastic answer, only a”ha ha fine grained.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’ll see even more examples. It’s ridiculous.
What is even more ridiculous is the way these instances are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer number of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will keep you occupied.
Then BetOnline Does One Funny: They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During precisely the exact same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were struggling to cover their clients.
Thent a few months later a story broke — BetOnline acquired SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part wasn’t so much the acquisition, it was the simple fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all the current and previous payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment team is dedicated for SportsBetting.ag winners paid at a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee future and past payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep stated. “However, since there is a large backlog of pending payouts, they have to be run through various fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. Once the backlog is complete, customers will experience radically enhanced payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment options, such as same day choices.”
No one knows precisely how much BetOnline needed to make in past payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” for more than $1.5 million in liabilities that wasn’t reported by the prior direction. I think it’d be safe to assume that the past debts exceeded $1.5 million — and seemingly BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we have had a hard time finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from over the past year or so.
There are some complaints; ordinary stuff all companies face that we will address in the future in our review once it makes sense. But it looks to us like the vast majority of BetOnline’s issues are over.
They even have satisfied clients, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what does this mean for you? In the event you forget and forgive? Are they secure enough for one to join, make a deposit and playwith? We’ll be honest — there is no way we would’ve played at BetOnline back in 2011-2012 when we had known or heard about any of those reports above. Nobody in their right mind could. You would be safer lighting your cash on fire.
And we also don’t want to downplay the errors they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software isn’t to be dismissed.
However, since buying SportsBetting.ag and incorporating new direction to manage operations, things have improved drastically. So much so we’re comfortable today recommending them to our subscribers.
And it is not just us. When you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, you will see similar thought processes. Typically the reviewers condemned them for their activities (in 2011-2012) and recommended NOT playing there, only to have a change of heart once they saw just how much BetOnline changed.
So, here is where we stand on the issue —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the most recent of which we emphasize in our review under.
But, as best as we can tell, they have righted their wrongs and continue to improve what they currently offer to players. We feel safe using accounts here.
It is your responsibility to decide if you are feeling the same way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their past out of the way, let us jump into what is important now — and that is what BetOnline offers concerning banking, betting options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a good choice of banking choices. However, you’ll want to remember that what’s available for you will be determined by where you live.
Let’s begin with their deposit choices.
Here are the payment procedures BetOnline accepts and also the min/max limits for each:
Visa (Person to Person)
Person to Person
$50/$900 — BetOnline covers some fees over $300. Money Orders
$10/no Maximum Neteller
$10/no max Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/no Maximum Bank Wire
$1,000/no maximum Check
Assess $1,500/$24,900 Diner’s Club
The largest complaint about deposits are their 6% fees for credit and debit cards. They’re one of the only sites which charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those other kinds, charging 4.9%.
When you’re ready to cash out your winnings, you can utilize:
Person to Person
$50/$500 — Can take 12-36 hours. Fees will run $26-$101. Bank Wire
$500/$24,900 — Can take up to 10 days. Prices will run $45-$75. ATM
ATM Only Card
$100/$2,500. Check By Mail
Check by Mail, Courier or Express
$500/$2,500 — Depending on which option you pick, this can require 7-30 days and will cost you $25-$50 NOT INCLUDING the fees that your bank may charge. Bitcoin
$20/$5,000 — Will charge you 2% (of the total). Skrill
$25/$9,900 — Requires around 36 hours. Just 3 requests allowed a week. Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/$15,000 — Transfers are completed within 24 hours. Neteller
$25/$9,900 — Takes up to 36 hours and will cost you $20. Only 3 payouts allowed a week.
What I do not like is the way you’ll pay a fee for every single banking option. Even bitcoin, which is usually free in most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% fee.
That said, I have seen firsthand testimonials from customers who say they have received payments within 10 days, bank transfers over 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is fast considering they’re from the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their website, but I have seen reports which indicate BetOnline gives you a $50 credit every month if you place in your request on a Friday. In many cases this will not cover the entire fee, but it is far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: What Can You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” business. That means that you can bet on sports betting, play poker and casino games.
Their longest reputation, and probably most popular product, is that their sportsbook. So let’s start there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on horses, sports and finances.
In their sportsbook they more or less pay the most popular sports in america. Included in these are:
You can also wager on stocks and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Soccer One option they’ve added recently is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how quickly that industry is growing. Every bookmaker is leaping on the bandwagon and offering odds on each of the biggest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, also, even though it appears like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — that they just have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who is covering 5+ games around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a large difference. I mean, who would you rather go to for eSports gambling?
That being said, I think that it’s a fantastic idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It’s possible they are still trying to find their bearings in this developing market. Perhaps they have plans to expand their eSports options in the near future.
What they do have going for them is that their chances on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They’re offering marginally better pricing for the same exact match.
There’s no way to tell whether that’s going to be true, nor can it matter whether they never expand this section of the sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on them.
They offer live betting also. These options vary constantly, of course, to match with what events or games are going on. When I last looked they had lines for football, tennis and baseball. You might even keep tabs on a few games concurrently utilizing their multi-event tab and plan for future games with their live betting calendar.
One thing they are known for are their higher-than-average betting limitations. These range from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will max out between $1,000 to $3,000. But it only depends. You can also raise your wagering levels by telephoning their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a reasonable number of promotions, and much more than you will find in their racebook and financials section combined. A few of the better options include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is more or less insurance — create a bet and if you lose, they will reimburse you up to $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a listing of races on their main webpage. Each listing tells you the number of spacious races there are, which when you click it is going to expand to show you the horses, races, jockeys and odds.
If you’re unfamiliar with their website or horse gambling, a fantastic section to search through is their racebook info tab within their navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their track limitations. This lets you know the max you can bet per race.Payoff chances. Find out how much you’ll make if your bet(s) win.Their principles and the types of bets you may make.Horse betting hints, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t understand what a word or phrase means).
It is a good section if you’re new to horse betting.
And that’s about it. This section is far more compact than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a couple offers also, though nowhere near the quality or volume that their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of these offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily with no min quantity or caps on how much you can make. $25 Risk Free Bet — Make a bet for the very first time from the racebook. In the event you shed BetOnline will reimburse you up to $25.
Last up is their financials section. Here you can bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your betting options include touch, range, turbo and one touch. The assets/markets it is possible to wager on will depend on your wager kind.
This section looks to be an afterthought. It certainly will not get the attention or marketing BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is one of the most popular options for Americans. They are part of the Chico Poker Network, who’s 13th in total traffic rankings, but is 3rd for US poker sites. When I last checked they’d about 2,100 players on their site.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software upgrade. Previously they had many complaints regarding the quality of their applications. This included complaints regarding fuzzy graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But after their upgrade we have seen suggestions they might have some of the best applications in america market.
From worst to best at one upgrade? That might be pushing it. But in line with the pictures I have seen, their applications DOES look much better.
However, there are still a few places BetOnline can improve.
Right now they have a download for PC and Macs. But they don’t have some options for cellular players, and that we think is a no-brainer in this era. Additionally they only offer holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be wonderful to see more game options.
In general, however, it’s nice to see they’re making improvements and are getting more aggressive with what other top tier US poker sites provide.
Speaking of that, some of the poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a max of $2,500. They pay out this to you 5 at a time. You will have 60 days to clear the offer. $50,000 GTD — They are running a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline guarantees greater than $90,000 in tournament prize pools every single weekend.
They have a few leaderboard and money race challenges, too.
And it’s not exactly a”bonus,” but the games here must be milder because of the US traffic along with the crossover visitors from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables ought to be simpler here compared to other poker (just ) sites.

Here you will find a great deal of game choices ranging from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from both Rival Gaming and BetSoft applications, each of which are known for creating topnotch games. Here’s how their matches breakdown:

If you run into a Issue or have a question, you can reach out to BetOnline using one of the following options:
LIVE CHAT (for actual money accounts only)
1 thing to find here are the accounts I have seen about the way BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
One example came out of a poker player turned site reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was among the worst I’ve heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt in Gambling the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high-quality, I expected them to excel at customer services. How else can you explain the prevalence of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, during their live chat support (and I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life so far.
After the live chat session started, I needed to wait for a few minutes before the customer support person bothered to answer, not only completely ignoring my question but asking for my username and password as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your password and username into some live chat box? I sure did not.
I explained that I do not wish to input that information to a chat area and, more importantly, the query demands no such advice because it was about BetOnline.ag in general. I had to wait for ten more minutes for”assistance” (I use that word loosely here), while receiving”Thanks for waiting. I will be with you in only a minute…” every now and then.
Nevertheless, I’ve also heard the opposite. A reviewer who plays on BetOnline states they offer excellent customer services. In addition, he states that your very best bet is to take advantage of their live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This suggests to people that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with how they handle customer care…an
